SUMMARY:Wonders of Worms Workshop for Adults
DESCRIPTION:Join Merritt Island Wildlife Association (MIWA) and Eaton Worms to learn about the benefits of using organic worms for composting and beneficial food for wildlife. Discover how to create a natural fertilizer that grows vibrant fruits\, vegetables and plants. Worms are also nutritious snacks for many wildlife species and a prime bait for attracting fish. In this workshop\, you will become familiarized with wormcasting\, also known as vermicast\, and the process of producing natural fertilizers. Each participant will receive a vermicomposting kit. Following the workshop\, the Rotary Park Naturalists will lead us on tour of their native plant and pollinator gardens. A few lucky participants will get to conduct live worm releases in the garden and provide some snacks for the ambassador animals. \nWorms are the key to creating healthy soil production. Did you know wormcastings: \n\nContain over 200 million beneficial bacteria.\nAre rich in nutrients\, make great fertilizer\, and are a natural pest repellent.\nAre Lagoon Friendly due to low nutrient level.\n\nThe Eaton Worms team will have their entire product line for sale during the event with special discounts for workshop attendees.
