Our I’ve Got an App for That Bird!  workshop is tailored for adult learners (ages 16+). Professional birding guides and consultants\, David Simpson and Dee Fairbanks Simpson (Birding with David Simpson) will share tips on how to leverage technology to enrich your birding knowledge. This hands-on session delves into the features\, benefits\, and best uses of three popular birding apps: \n\nCornell Lab’s Merlin Bird ID: Learn how to identify birds using field marks captured in images with AI enhanced recognition. Improve your Birding by Ear skills by leveraging automated sound ID.\neBird: Discover how to keep a detailed life list\, contribute to community science\, and explore bird sighting hotspots worldwide.\nSibley’s Field Guide App: Master the art of field identification using detailed illustrations and field marks.\n\nThis workshop combines interactive demonstrations\, hands-on app exploration\, and group discussions to ensure participants gain practical skills and confidence in using these tools for birding. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced birder looking to enhance your tech-savvy birding skills\, this session is for you! \nFormat: \n\nOverview of APP’s\nScenario based examples to apply your learning\nQ&A and group discussion on choosing the right app for your needs\nOptional field practice following the workshop.
