SUMMARY:The Joy of Butterflies - Education Session and Walk
DESCRIPTION:Photo Credit:  Ed Perry \nButterfly Education and Pollinator Garden Walk \nStep into the charm of the past and the beauty of nature during this unique program at the Sams House historic pioneer cabin surrounded by pollinator gardens. We’ll begin with an introduction to Florida’s butterflies\, then enjoy a walk around the native plant gardens. Along the way you will learn about creating pollinator-friendly landscapes and observe butterflies in the wild. Discover how planting with purpose can bring your own landscape to life with butterflies and other pollinators. \nSams House at Pine Island Conservation Area is part of Brevard County’s Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) program. //Established in 1990\, the EEL program acquires and manages environmentally endangered lands using scientifically guided conservation practices to protect native plants\, wildlife\, and ecosystems for future generations. \nAbout Our Walk Leader (Ed Perry):\nEd Perry retired after after 31-years as a Park Ranger at Sebastian Inlet State Park. He enjoys fishing\, butterfly gardening\, growing & grafting tropical fruit trees\, beachcombing (for sea-beans!)\, tropical fish aquaria\, wildlife photography\, and sharing life with his daughter Gayle. Ed is a Florida native and graduated from the University of Florida. In his retired life he became interested in being involved in butterfly counts and protecting tracts of native\, wild lands within our beautiful state of Florida. \nFree\, but please REGISTER HERE
